Hello and welcome!

My name is Sally Cosgrove and I’m a UK trained and registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I’ve been qualified for over 30 years, so I have a lot of experience of helping people in emotional distress to find hope and a way forward.

I began working online in 2016. At the time, online therapy was fairly unusual, but since the covid 19 pandemic it really caught on, as people realised the internet offered an easy and effective way to access therapy and clinical supervision.

For more information about my therapy style and models, please visit Services. For any further questions, please check my FAQs page or visit the Contact page.

Please note that due to increasingly complex regulations around online therapy, I can only work with UK residents or expats, and not with people from the USA or Canada.

Professional Background and Experience

I worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for 30 years. This involved:

  • Experience of working across the whole spectrum of mental health problems.

  • Special interest in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Complex Trauma.

  • Schema Therapy: adapting this integrative approach for different client groups.

  • Staff development, mentoring, training and supervision.

I was initially trained in CBT, but over time I developed a more integrative style of working, allowing a more flexible, creative approach to each client’s unique situation. I have been particularly impacted by compassion-focused approaches to therapy and the central importance of a collaborative, warm, empathic therapeutic relationship.

Alongside my NHS work, I have four years’ experience of overseas humanitarian work. Following this, for several years I volunteered with an agency providing member care for NGO workers, involving pre-field assessment and training, debriefing and counselling. I wrote a number of resources about re-entry, including an e-book.

When not working…

I love walking and exploring new places. I also enjoy finding ways of being creative: currently through photography and writing.
